Are you feeling stuck and wondering “how can I get out of this position?"

Are you feeling like you are not moving forward with your life?

Are you overwhelmed by difficult emotions, by stress, anxiety or depression?

Are you experiencing difficulties making important decisions?

You know you want something to change, and yet you’re unsure of what can help bring this change: “Is psychotherapy the way forward for me?”, you may be asking yourself,  “Am I ready to begin some work of self discovery and healing?”

Below I will explain how I see this process of self discovery, and what happens when we
begin this expedition and how it works.  But before I do, I would like to share with you a quote from the poet Rumi which I believe describes what I am about to explain in just one sentence:

"Come to the Root of the Root of your Self"
                                       -Jalaluddin Rumi

As you set out on the journey of discovering and healing yourself, a process begins that will bring you closer to your inner place of wisdom.  Connecting to this place will illuminate your questions, help you meet your core challenges, and reveal the path to move forward.  All of us have a deep place of wisdom, yet it’s often ignored either because we don’t know it exists, we never learn how to access it, or because we have come to mistrust it.

Whether we experience anxiety, stress, loneliness, indecisiveness, grief, depression, life transitions, feeling stuck, troublesome relationships or difficulties in overcoming a traumatic experience, connecting with this deeper place inside of ourselves helps us find the way forward into the expansiveness of our life. The voice of wisdom however is often hard to distinguish from messages we receive from other places inside us - places that have been hurt and are calling for our attention.

This is where a psychotherapist can help.

A skillful therapist who has studied the complexity of this inner work, and has also been on his/her own journey of self discovery, can facilitate this process and can be a guide in the direction of one’s own light.

Psychotherapy is a very unique kind of relationship which offers a significant pathway for this journey.  Our relationships and our interactions with our environment greatly influence our development and who we become.  It is through relationships that we learn how to love ourselves and others.  It is through relationships that we could get hurt, become mistrustful, and end up feeling worthless, hopeless and alone.  A safe therapeutic connection provides the necessary environment for healing to occur.  Healing begins with the experience of feeling deeply listened to and understood.  Being deeply listened to by another person helps us not only connect with another human being but also reconnect with ourselves - listen to ourselves in a new way, and recognize our own inner experience.  Through this therapeutic interaction we begin to learn how to trust ourselves, other people, and our environment.  Trust provides the foundation for the steps we need to take to live more fully and meaningfully.

For more than 20 years I have been guiding people in their journeys to become more connected to their true selves and to find ways to be more joyful, resilient and content.  I have also been helping people develop meaningful relationships, and discover the necessary steps to reach their potential.

I am looking forward to meeting you!
